Kayleigh Love was doing something she absolutely loves- exploring old buildings and facilities, looking for signs of the paranormal. However, she likely was shocked to hit the jackpot when she headed out to explore a derelict facility located in Wales. Why? Love was able to capture an outline of a human figure, staring at her and her colleagues from a corner, during her time in the facility. The ghostly figure seems to be staring back at the camera from afar. In the released footage, the figure could be seen at the very end of a hallway that had looked empty just seconds before.
When she reviewed the videos of her time there later, only then did Love spot the ghostly figure. Love stated that her stomach “turned” when she saw it. When she edited her footage, she slowed it down in order to get a good look at what she caught. It made her feel uneasy when she spotted the figure in the corner, seemingly staring at her intently.
Love is the owner of a YouTube channel called Love to Investigate. She conducts and records possible paranormal investigations for the channel. While she would not name which facility she was visiting at the time of the picture, many believe that the description matches that of a psychiatric facility known as the Mid-Wales Hospital. Located in Talgarth, Powys, the facility opened in 1903. It was permanently closed in 1999.
Love, 27, believes that the figure she accidentally recorded is likely an apparition of a former patient of the hospital. She thinks that the patient once had a room in that specific corridor and that her spirit is still trapped in the hospital.
She also thinks that the apparition is reaching out from beyond to tell a story in order to escape the asylum and cross over to a different dimension.
After watching the footage she shot during her walking tour of the asylum, she still feels frightened that they were so close to the figure without realizing it at the time. It also appears that the ghostly apparition was walking towards them as she was filming. Scariest of all is the fact that she isn’t see-through at all. The figure, which was not there before, looked to be solid.
Love has also stated that many skeptics are even wondering whether her footage is the real thing. Many still cannot offer a logical explanation for what they can see lurking in the shadows of the dark and abandoned corridor. Some have even accused Love of asking a friend to dress up and wander into sight during their filming. However, Love has insisted that she would never plant something so fake.
Love believes that she has struck gold with her video. She said that she has been exploring and investigating for months before she managed to get the apparition on video. She understands that a lot of people try for years to get something on camera or film to no avail, so she is very lucky that it happened to her and her crew.
The Mid-Wales Hospital was originally called the Brecon and Radnor Joint Counties Lunatic Asylum. While it was a psychiatric asylum, it was ahead of its time for sure. It offered beautiful gardens for residents to walk in, bakers, shoemakers, workshops, and a print shop. The facility also had a large recreation hall for patients to use and enjoy during their time there.
During the 1940s the facility became a war hospital. Soon afterward, lobotomies were performed by doctors in the same space. During a lobotomy, a part of the patient’s brain is taken out, a practice that has been discredited for decades.
Love explored the unidentified center back on September 27, 2020, but has only now come forward with the terrifying footage that was caught. Her YouTube viewers were just as much in shock as she was at what was caught on video.
