When it comes to getting married most of us only want to do it once. While that is usually because we have found the love of our life and we want to stay with them forever, there is a second reason too. Weddings are absolute hell. Yes, the day is beautiful and you will never be so happy or proud in your lifetime. However, the stress, organization, and the buildup that leads to these events can lead you to pull your hair out or contemplate why you want to get married in the first place. We understand. You are not alone and if you feel like you are a terrible bride or groom-to-be because you are getting frustrated than please don’t worry, this is all part of the process. We hope that our website and some of the articles that you come across will help in lowering some of the stress you feel. The reality though is that even when you think you have thought of everything there is always one more thing around the corner. Let’s start tackling the small stuff, little by little and one by one.
One thing that people often forget is the wedding enclosure card. A wedding enclosure card is a small card that goes in the envelope along with the wedding invitation. It usually contains the useful information that people attending the wedding will require and depending on how much information is required there may be more than one card required.
If you are already wondering why you need these cards then maybe your wedding is so straight forward that they are not needed. However, if you need to tell your guests anything about directions, hotel information, meal options, RSVPs, and gifts then you need some cards. The alternative is that you will be getting a lot of phone calls leading up to the event and that is the last thing that you want. The modern alternative is to simply direct people in your wedding invitation to a website that you have set up with all the required information.
If you don’t like the idea of a website and only think of these cards last minute you will likely pay to have them made and they will cost you a small fortune (or at least far more than you think some small pieces of the card should cost). It pays to think ahead and if you plan correctly you can make these cards that look beautiful at a fraction of the cost from your own home.
To make the card itself we recommend getting three colors of card, plain white, a backing color (maybe cream, off yellow, etc,) and a back color (may gold or brown or maroon if you are choosing cream). The colors you choose really depend on your taste and whether you want it to match a theme you have chosen.
Now you need to take to your computer. Even if you are not tech-savvy, this will be easy. Go to Microsoft Word or Google Docs and open a new tab. In the options menu, you should find a button that offers ‘Templates’. Click on this and you will find a wide range of templates that are incredibly useful to help create a calendar or for other events. Type ‘Wedding reply cards’ in the search bar and you will load a bunch of options that meet your needs. Simply delete whatever words are in the template and replace them with your own instructions.
Once you have finished the writing, print it on the white card paper and then stick this to the off yellow before applying it to the gold. Both backing borders should be visible behind the white paper. If you like you can add some calligraphy borders or bows to really accent the enclosure card but this is not required. Simply print off as many as you require and get excited because you have just completed another wedding task.
